The Screen Actors Guild Foundation provides vital assistance and educational programming to the professionals of SAG-AFTRA while serving the public at large through its signature children’s literacy programs. These award-winning programs include SAG Foundation BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools), through which 2,200 union performers read to over 60,000 children monthly in classrooms nationwide, and Storyline Online, the interactive literacy website that attracts over 2 million views each month. The SAG Foundation is a national non-profit organization, independent of SAG-AFTRA, and relies solely on grants, corporate sponsorships and individual donations to maintain its programs and create new ones. Nominations for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be unveiled on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The announcement will be telecast live on TNT at 9 a.m. (ET) / 6 a.m. (PT) and webcast live on tntdrama.com and tbs.com. Prior to the announcement, this year’s stunt ensemble nominees will be revealed during a live webcast at 8:50 a.m. (ET) / 5:50 a.m. (PT).
Actor® recipients will be announced at the 20th Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 18, 2014, simulcast live from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT).
Aaron Goodwin are looking for 100 young people to join us for an afternoon of joy, laughter, fun, and Holiday Cheer at our 6th Annual Holiday Party. Each party goer will receive a $50 gift card; there will be plenty of food and activities; visits by special guest; and a great time for all.
Here are the requirements to nominate a child:
1. The child must be between the ages of 7 and 15.
2. This offer is limited to children who reside in Oakland and attend an Oakland school.
3. Although there are no income restrictions, preference will be given to children whose parents are experiencing economic challenges.
4. If you are a parent, guardian, teacher, friend, mentor, relative, coach or Oakland resident please write a letter explaining why your child nominee should be selected to participate in this experience. The nominating letters should contain the name, address, phone number and age of the nominee and of a parent or guardian.
5. All documentation must be received no later than 5:00 pm on December 11, 2013.
